How to recover IPCop 2 Root and Admin Passwords<\/p>\n

IPCop2 Reset Root Password

You can recover the root password by booting IPCop in \u201csingle user<\/strong>\u201d mode.<\/p>\n

Procedure<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Attach a Monitor and keyboard<\/strong> to your IPCop machine.<\/li>\n
  2. Reboot the Machine<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. During the system reboot, while the GRUB splash screen is displayed, press the a<\/strong> key.<\/li>\n
  4. Grub append><\/strong> command line will appear as shown below.<\/li>\n
  5. Go to the end of the line and type the word: single <\/strong>\n

  6. Now press the Enter key.<\/li>\n
  7. IPCop will boot in single mode<\/strong> and you will be placed at the command prompt.<\/li>\n
  8. In the command prompt, type the word passwd<\/strong> and press enter as shown in the below pic.

  9. You will be prompted to enter the root password, enter the new root password and re-enter to conform it.\n

  10. Now reboot your machine using the below command.
